Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The Aircraft Hydraulic Technician is a working member of a crew, and reports to the associated Lead. His/her responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Complying with company policies, procedures, and standards;
  • Maintaining their personal records;
  • Assist in startup activities of establishing a Hydraulic Shop;
  • Work with internal stakeholders (such as fleet management, supply chain and maintenance) to create and maintain a prioritized production plan of hydraulic components.
  • Sets-up and tests hydraulic systems and components using the hydraulic bench;
  • Maintain hydraulic components using Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs)
  • Adjust equipment & repair/replace defective parts components or systems according to scopes of work
  • Ensuring any issues that could jeopardize production or airworthiness are raised in a timely manner;
  • Ensuring airworthiness and safety policies, processes and standards are complied with;
  • Ensuring a safe and tidy workplace;
  • Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor;
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.

 

 

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience on a commercial or military aircraft;
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Experience in Aircraft Hydraulics is an asset;
  • Experience in production environments with multiple priorities.
  • Experience in using a hydraulic test bench;
  • Experience in inspecting defects and troubleshooting hydraulic components.
  • Experience in effectively using Component Maintenance Manuals (CMMs) and Illustrated Parts Catalogs (IPCs) in order to carry out maintenance on hydraulic components.
  • Able to work on complex assignments requiring considerable judgment, initiative and technical/specialized knowledge;
  • Able to problem solve and troubleshoot;
  • Able to communicate in English and French;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers;
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service;
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices;
  • Ability to perform all work in support of our Corporate Values of Excellence, Service, Integrity and Together;
  • Position requires Level II Clearance with the Canadian Government and the ability to gain access to the Canadian Controlled Goods Program.
